Hundreds Remember Bill at OASIS Memorial Party Today

Today in Corona del Mar, over 250 people remembered Bill at a memorial event held at the OASIS Senior Center. Bill regularly sat in with the OASIS Ukulele Strummers Club and many came to pay their respects today. For the full Corona del Mar Today article, click here.
Bill Tapia (1908-2011). Ukulele jazzer and educator gets his Patsy Cline on in Japan. Age 102. Because why not? Tapia started his career at age 8 entertaining troops stationed in Hawaii in World War I (yes, you read that right) and continued on in vaudeville and later collaborated with Louis Armstrong, Bing Crosby and Elvis.Los Angeles Times - Article by Marcia Adair Aprpril 3, 2013
